Emma’s Estate Agents was set up in 1995 from Michelle’s dining room table in Gorringe Park Avenue in Mitcham, when her first daughter Emma was just two years old. In 1997, Michelle and Emma moved to Streatham and the business came with them. Streatham-based ever since, Emma’s has become much more than its humble beginnings and now has a portfolio of properties across the whole of London.
Moving into our Streatham Office
In 2018, we made the exciting move out of Michelle’s home office to our first high street shopfront where we have remained since. This was also when we branched into sales for the first time. Our team has grown with us over the years. What started out as just Michelle, is now a core team of five amazing individuals. As of 2020, the business has been run by Emma, who started working alongside Michelle in her namesake company in 2014. In 2021, she was joined by Imogen, Michelle’s youngest daughter, continuing the family legacy.
Why Emma’s Estate Agents is Different
Unlike most estate agents, we operate a flat structure, without complicated job titles or interteam competition. This allows us to focus on collaborating and working as a team to get the very best results for all our clients.
Michelle lived a life of excitement and travel which led her to New York in the 1980s. It was here that her career in property began, working for a large firm specialising in Co-ops and Condominiums. On her return to the UK, with her infant daughter Emma in tow, Michelle set up Emma’s in her name (yes, it is named after her!).
Starting with nothing but an idea, she built a successful business that grew to employ a team of people.
Michelle was enormously knowledgeable, fiercely principled, and steely in her resolve. She was often seen striding around the Streatham locale with her equally spirited dog sidekick, Angus the Westie. After 25 years at the helm of Emma’s Estate Agents Michelle Crowson sadly passed away on the 13th of January 2021. Whilst she is missed her legacy continues as Emma’s moves from strength to strength and we look forward to making her proud for many years to come.
